Our daily waters this week are inspired by the themes from the Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School.
“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!” (Psalm 139:14, NLT)
Yesterday we explored how God made you for a purpose, using the prophet, Jeremiah, as an example. We read that God had a purpose in mind for Jeremiah before he was even conceived, and believe the same is true for you and me.
God did make you, and he made you so wonderfully complex, as we read in Psalm 139:14. Just think of all the things that make you tick, and the things that tick you off. From your blessings to your burdens, God wants you to use all of those beautifully and wonderfully complex parts of you to reveal God’s glory.
God did make you, so praise him for the wonderfully complex parts of you. Those wonderfully complex parts reveal the most basic aspects of your purpose. Are there things you don’t like about yourself? Sure, we all have them, so what are we to do? Remember that God made you to be wonderful. If there are parts that need to be refined — take, for example, your health — then get closer to God. Are there people in your life you need to connect with at a deeper level to help them know how wonderfully complex God made them? You bet! Then keep on encouraging them in The Body of Christ, the Church!
God made you to be awesome. Allow that awesomeness to glorify God, and help you connect with others who need to know of God’s awesomeness, too.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for making me wonderful, complex, awesome. Forgive me the times I look down on me, and in essence, your creation. Help me by the power of your Spirit to grow closer to you, share your awesomeness with others, and help support other Jesus followers, too. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
