“I kneel in worship facing your holy temple and say it again: ‘Thank you!’ Thank you for your love, thank you for your faithfulness; most holy is your name, most holy is your Word.” (Psalm 138:2, MSG)
I was in an office the other day and saw a sign that read, “If life gives you more than you can stand, kneel.” King David certain had experiences in his life that he could not stand. As he wrote what we now know as Psalm 138, he set the precedent for kneeling in worship and expressing gratitude.
Are you in a position when you find life hard to stand? Kneel. Worship. Give thanks to God for what you do have in your life. Ask God for strength to deal with what you must, and peace to leave alone what you do not. God is always faithful, and in his holiness, joins you while you knee, and then calls you into a new life with him.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you. Sometimes that is all I can say. When life gives me more than in can stand, help me to see the things for which I need to be grateful. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
