“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV)
Have you ever felt scared, alone, discouraged, dismayed? Have you ever felt like things are hopeless? They aren’t!
Today’s is one of those worthy or printing out and placing on your mirror, by your coffee pot, dash board, or wherever you might need a little inspiration and reminder of God’s presence with you. When these words were first spoken, Moses was telling Joshua and the people of Israel not to be afraid as they began their conquest of the Promised Land. God planned this for them, and even though there were some battles that lay between them and their settlements, they did not go alone.
That promise is true for you and me today. God has a promised land in mind for you with him in heaven. Sure, there will be some battles you must wage between now and then, but as you go, you can rest assured you do not go alone. God will not leave you nor foresake you, and for that reason, you need not be discouraged.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your promise to he with me. I confess it feels like I am engaged in battle from time to time, but I can take comfort that you are with me wherever I go. I ask for your help and protection in the name of Jesus. Amen.
