“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My IMG_1115Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” ( John 14:1-3, NIV)

Last week we explored the steps to salvation, and I hope you found it helpful. This week we will look at what it means to merge faith and action and allow that to transform us as God shapes our behavior to be like Jesus.

You are important to God…you really are. Your life matters, too…it really does! There are always things you encounter — either by choice or circumstances completely out of your control — that can cause you to wonder if you matter. Jesus’ message is you do! He illustrated this to the disciples just before his crucifixion by saying he was going to prepare their place in heaven so they could be where he would be. Hard things were ahead, no doubt, but he wanted them to believe that they metered, even when things were tough.

Jesus wants you where he is. Yes, he came to meet you where you are in life, but he loves you too much to leave you there. Reading on through John 14, we see Jesus’ promise to send God’s Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct their way…your way…to him. Belief is the key to activating that faith and trust to help you live for God, directed by his Holy Spirit. God wants to help you do great things for him. Don’t let temporary troubles overwhelm your eternal perspective. Your life matters and God has a place for you. God believes in you. Do you believe it?

Prayer: Dear Lord, I believe in you and believe that my life matter. Help me by the power of your Spirit to use my life in faith to show others how awesome you are. I ask this in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
