This morning I woke up thinking about grace. Martin Luther wrote “we find no rest for our weary bones unless we cling to the word grace”. I know in my faith life there have been times I have minimized the grace of our Lord. I think I believe in Jesus and don’t you know that’s all I need. Day to day, I pray, I help others, I pack bags for Backpack Buddies, and i connect with others so they can see my faith.
Have you ever taken your faith for granted like I sometimes have? I look up after I get done doing stuff and I am weary down to the bone. When I came across this quote it reminded me of God’s grace…a grace that was greater than all our sin. Grace comes to us not by what we do…but as a holy gift from God wrapped in the faith that we place in the cross. I am once again realizing the importance of rest to reconnect with God’s grace.
Prayer: Lord Jesus thank you for coming and taking my sin and replacing it with righteousness. I ask forgiveness that I sometimes forget it is truly grace that drew me into the family of God. Help me to remember to rest and reconnect to your grace and mercy. Thank you for being my Savior in Jesus name Amen.
