“This is what the Lord says — your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.'” (Isaiah 48:17, NIV)
When was the last time you faced a dilemma when you didn’t know what to do, or which direction to go? Some might be minor, like what to have to eat, while others are major, like school choices, careers decisions, or health treatments. During those times, we need to hear wise words from trusted loved ones who can speak truth into our lives. The good news is that the wisest and most loving One ever wants to speak to YOU!
Throughout Scripture we read instances where God speaks to his children. Today’s verse is one of those powerful promises where God, your redeemer, yearns to teach and direct you the way to go. He does this for your own good based on his goodness. God does this, because he longs to redeem you from an old way of living, and restore you to live for him.
When was the last time you faced a dilemma when you didn’t know what to do, or which direction to go? God wants to speak to you from his eternal throne of goodness. He wants to teach you his ways, and direct you on his path of righteousness. God speaks…will you listen?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for speaking to me. Forgive me for the times I don’t listen to your teaching or follow your direction. Help me by the power of your Spirit to listen, learn, and follow you all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
