“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1, NIV)
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving…we sure did! Gathering and feasting with family was special, and even though I still feel stuffed today, it pales in comparison to the love of God I feel as I give thanks for my friends, family, and church. Thanks be to God for real!
Today’s verse is an important one to reflect upon the day after a Thanksgiving. It should be a reminder to you to make Thanksgiving more than just a once-a-year celebration, for it should be your posture for living. As the Psalm tells us, God is good and His love endures forever. Focusing on this isn’t just about celebrations on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or even Easter, but each and every day of our lives. Giving thanks, therefore, is about thanking God repeatedly for his many blessings!
You were created for eternity. God wants you to live eternally with him. His love endures forever, so may your celebration of thanksgiving be perpetual, too. May we all “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the gift of eternity. I know your love lasts forever, so may my thanksgiving for you do the same. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
