“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6, NIV)
It’s been a great week looking at ways to develop a Godly perspective. From not worrying to learning why God wants you to live with Him and others, I hope you have learned something new. As we near the end of this week’s series, it is important for you to have a home base, so-to-speak, where you can retreat and find renewal.
You were never meant to run without rest; in fact, it is during your rest when your strength and stamina actually improves! You need a special and sacred place where you can retreat regularly to spend time alone with God and learn from Him. In today’s Bible verse, we see Jesus talk about getting alone with Him to spend time with God. There is a reward in this, which is a renewal and refinement of your call, but the real reward is in God’s awesome presence.
As you go through life and gain new wisdom through your experiences, God will use those for the sake of the Kingdom. Your calling isn’t static, but dynamic. As you run through life, you need to take time to return to God, allow Him to refine your calling, and reward you with the riches of His presence. Go to your special and sacred place to connect with God almighty!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the richness of your presence. Forgive me for the times I run and run and run without touching base with you along the way. I definitely want help increasing my strength and stamina, and I know this comes in my closeness with you. I pray for your help in the name of Jesus. Amen.
