God’s Healing

today’s daily water is written by Jen Manning

“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!” (Psalms 147: 3-5, NLT)

Have you ever felt like your heart was literally breaking? Have you found yourself wounded like an arrow pierced your very soul? What about those dark times when we say to ourselves, ‘No one could possibly understand what I’m going through or the pain I’ve endured.’?

I don’t think I’m the only one to have had these thoughts. Suffering is something we all experience on earth. Let’s explore one more verse, to really bring it together.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” (Psalms 34:18, NLT)

Who better than the Creator of the universe who is omniscient and omnipresent to help us truly heal, not just slap on a band-aid. He wants to bind up your wounds. He wants to draw you closer to Him, and in those intimate moments of care and rescue He wants you to know that He does understand what you are experiencing. He wants you to lean on Him. He hears your cries, and He wants to provide true and lasting healing.

Will you accept Him? Will you allow Him access?

Prayer: Dear Lord, sometimes darkness and pain occur in this life. It’s sometimes easier to let darkness envelop us rather than turn to you. I ask Lord, that you would gently remind me that in order to truly heal I must submit myself into your care. I thank You for loving me so much that You personally come to my aid.
