The Easter Turning Point

by Pastor Mark Jordan

If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

For the past two weeks, we have experienced some very meaningful encounters from people about what Easter means to them. From the silly to the spiritual, Easter is full of meaning about God’s love for you and me. Yes, Jesus rose from the dead some 2,000 years ago, and He still lives! That event changed everything, and God wants it to change you.

Jesus’ Resurrection is the turning point of eternity. It is available for all people, for all time. It is cosmic, but it is also deeply personal, for the power that rose Jesus from the grave is the same power available to raise you today from whatever problems you face that you fear will be the end of you. Truly! Let the turning point of eternity be your personal turning point today.

Speaking of turning points, I want to close by looking back at the event known as the turning point of the Gospels. Jesus asked the disciples who people were say He was. Then, He turned the question and made it personal, “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” (Matthew 16:15) This is the question I want to pose to you: who do you say Jesus is? If you confess and believe, it is the turning point in your life, now and forever!

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for loving me. I believe that Jesus died for me and that you raised Him from the grave. I believe that this is the turning point in my life, now through eternity. I pray this in the saving name of Jesus. Amen!
