“I love the Lord because he hears my requests for mercy. I’ll call out to him as long as I live, because he listens closely to me.” (Psalm 116:1-2, CEB)
My iPhone gave me a chuckle the other day, which proved to be a beautiful reminder of God’s love, grace, and presence in my life. I had the television on, but I wasn’t really paying attention. Something was said that triggered the “Hey Siri” function. My phone beeped a couple times and told me, “I will remind you to destroy the potatoes.” No kidding!
I have heard several stories about these “smart” devices inadvertently doing things like placing online orders, making calls, and doing other kinds of things unintentionally. That’s because they are always listening, but they don’t always hear properly.
I have some good news for you. God is always listening, but He hears you perfectly! He listens closely to you to know exactly what you need, even before you call out to Him. If you need mercy and help in your life — and honestly, who doesn’t? — call out to God. He is always listening, and listening closely. You can trust Him…He hears you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for always listening to me. I praise you, because not only do you listen, but you listen closely. I pray to you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
