“…as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12, NIV)
I’m sure many of you have heard the song by Casting Crowns “East to West.” If you haven’t I would suggest you make time to listen to it.
I love it when I’m reading Scripture, and I find a Scripture verse that is also a lyric in today’s music. The really awesome part is this particular verse is a Psalm sung thousands of years ago in reverence to God and His mighty ability to blot out our sins. This lyric has stood the test of time and is just as relevant to our lives today. Don’t you want your sin to be cast that far?
I’ll admit, sometimes when I’m reading the Bible, and I’ll wonder how can this possibly apply to me. God breathed life into us after forming us from dust. He also breathed Scripture into being.
Sometimes that situation your struggling to deal with or that prayer that hasn’t been answered yet, you can find in the Bible.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for wiping away my sins. Help me remember you have created an instruction manual for life, Your Word. Its timeless words are as relevant to our lives as when your inspired Word was penned.
