Those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. (Titus 3:8)
The picture above is on the side of the street in my subdivision. A dog must have walked through the cement before it was dry. He “left his mark”. That is exactly what God is calling each of us to do. At SPLASH this year, the speaker was talking about “leaving your mark”. Part of the way that we do that is by witnessing – something I am not great at.
I always think that I don’t know enough about the Bible to answer questions if someone asks. The speaker was teaching the kids to simple listen to when God is nudging you to talk to someone and when that happens just ask the person, “Is there anything that I could pray for you about?” I thought- I could do that.
Leaving our mark maybe a grand jester or big service project but it could also be something very small. It could be something as simple as a smile given to someone, lending a helping hand or praying with someone. We don’t have to be able to quote bible verses but just to be able to share what God has done for us and how we feel about Him.
God made us all different with different callings. It is up to us to listen and move when he tells us to.
Prayer: Dear God, help us listen and move when you call us to. Help us discover what “mark” you need for us to leave.
