Today’s Daily Water is written by Doug Markle, friend of Pastor Mark’s, who writes for Beloved Lord Ministries
“For thus says the Lord, ‘You shall not see wind or rain, but that stream-bed shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink, you, your livestock, and your animals.’ This is a light thing in the sight of the Lord. He will also give the Moabites into your hand,” (1 Kings 20:17-18)
Elijah and Elisha were both prophets of God and pretty raw when it came to dealing with people. Here we see Elisha talking with the kings of Judah and Israel. One little sentence in the middle of his proclamation jumped out to me today. “This is a light thing in the sight of the Lord.” I believe that after walking with Elijah, Elisha had a glimpse of how powerful our God is.
I think there are times that when we pray for things, we treat them as if God would have trouble with them like we do. Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us”. There is nothing we can ask that is beyond His power and capabilities. Is there something you are believing God for? He is enough. Whatever it is, it is a light thing in the sight of the Lord.
Prayer: Mighty, mighty God, I am so glad I serve a God that is bigger than anything I could ever face.
