“Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness.” (PSALM 37:3 AMP)
Wow, some powerful words to chew on. Trust: to rely on and have confidence. Trust is foundational to our belief as a Christian. We have to trust that Jesus Christ lived, died, and was resurrected. Everyone once in awhile, we might have a bit of doubt, but mostly we don’t struggle in our confidence that the only way to heaven is through God’s son, Jesus.
Where do we stop relying and having confidence in God? He is faithful to take care of us. We can know that we can safely rest in Him. How often do we stop trusting God to handle our affairs, and pick up the burdens to carry ourselves?
Let me direct you to an important point. If we are feeding on His faithfulness, then just like a small child we can get in the backseat fully trusting our Heavenly Father, parent, to get us where we need to be on time.
The Message calls it an insurance policy. So what are we supposed to do in the backseat knowing we are fully covered when any mishaps, mayhem, and mistakes occur?
We do good. We are not focused on trying to do life on our own terms, and instead begin to think of others more than ourselves.
Get out of the driver’s seat. Your license has been suspended. Give God the keys believing He will take you where you need to be when you need to be there.
See how much good you are able to think about and actually accomplish when you become fully reliant on God.
Prayer: Thank you Father for knowing what’s and knowing how we need to prepare for what is coming out way. Help us have confidence that you can accomplish more through us when we give you the keys. Thank you for the opportunity to turn over control, and freeing us up focusing on helping others instead of worrying and getting weighed down.
