“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11, NKJV)
Today is the day…Merry Christmas!
As a child, I can remember people asking me if Santa was good to me. The answer was always, a resounding yes, whether or not everything on my list was under the tree. The best things I can remember weren’t just the things on my list, but the surprises I wasn’t expecting, because Santa always gave the best surprises.
Today is about so much more than Santa, though, for this is the day we celebrate Jesus’ birth…the greatest Christmas gift ever! I hope as you celebrate, feast, and play today, you remember the gift of grace that came at Christmas. For this is the day God’s promise was fulfilled…
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (NKJV)
Merry Christmas!
Prayer: Dear Lord, Happy Birthday, and thank you for giving us Christmas so the world can celebrate with you. As I celebrate your birth, help me to focus on you: the greatest gift ever given. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
