A Christmas Conduit

by Pastor Mark Jordan

“…the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.‘ So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.” (Luke 2:15-16, NIV)

Jesus is born. Emmanuel has come. Christmas changes the world!

When the shepherds heard the good word, they hurried to go see Baby Jesus. They received the invitation and wanted to see it for themselves.

The news that was good then is still good today. Don’t just receive it passively, but make haste to see it for yourself. And as the scripture continues, the shepherds couldn’t contain themselves … they had to go tell everyone what they saw.

How will you allow the message of Christmas to change you today? Don’t just become a container for the Lord’s message, be a conduit for it. Let others know that God is with us!

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for Christmas. Forgive me for the times I just seek to contain the message as opposed to being a conduit. Help me find those who need to hear the good news, and then share it with joy and enthusiasm. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
