“…your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” (Matthew 6:8, NIV)
I had one of those convicting prayer moments the other day. I was in my morning prayer time, and I found myself saying to God, “I need…” As I said that, I felt a wave of humility wash over me, and today’s verse came into my spirit: “your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Jesus said this just before teaching the Lord’s Prayer.
God does know what you need before you ask Him. Why don’t you try trusting God with what you need, and take some time to thank Him for what you have? It might just change your prayer time.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I know you know what I need. Forgive me for the many times I think I know best. I trust you with my life, and thank you for being there for me in all ways and all things. I praise you in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
