“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’” (Luke 24:5-7, NKJV)
Today’s verse is probably my favorite passage for an Easter Sunday, which I prefer to call, Resurrection Day. To me it speaks to the truth that all too often we go through life seeking the things that don’t give life. The beauty of the Resurrection shows us that we can in a moment, switch our search.
Are you looking for the living among the dead? If so, it’s time to switch your search. Jesus died so you can live! And thanks to this glorious day, you know we all can live together forever, because the grave is not the end of your story.
Thank you, Jesus!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I come to you on this Resurrection Day, acknowledging that I all-too-often am guilty of seeking the living among the dead. Help me to switch my search by radiating my expectations of you into the heavenly realms. I ask this in the name of our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
