“Come now, let us think about this together,” says the Lord. “Even though your sins are bright red, they will be as white as snow. Even though they are dark red, they will be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18, NLV)
I wore one of my favorite shirts the other day. It’s a white Mickey Mouse golf-style shirt. I don’t wear it very often, because I can find ways to make messes even under the cleanest of circumstances. As you’d probably imagine, I spilled something down the front of it in no time (tea, I think). I wore those stains all day long before getting it home to treat the shirt. I wasn’t too concerned, though, because of this special cleaner Tiffany concocted thanks to a recipe from Pinterest…that stuff will clean anything!
We all wear stains in our lives, don’t we? Some are more visible than others, but we know they’re there. God does, too. If you fear you are ruined, you’re not. As today’s verse indicates, God wants to settle this matter with you. He is the perfect cleanser to remove any stain, and you can go to God confidently, knowing His heart longs for you. Bring your stained self to God, and let Him treat you. You’ll never feel so clean.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your loving care. I know you long to treat my stained life as you treat my soul for eternity. I praise you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
