Psalm 139
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
In today’s world, everything is hurry, hurry, hurry. The minute you wake up, there are so many tasks to be done. There is not a moment to lose. And our conversation is the same way. We blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. Seldom do we take the time to consider the impact of our words and the tone with which we deliver them. Even our thoughts come to mind in a jumble. A prayer before the busy day is often a “quick prayer.” “Oh yeah, good morning, God. Be with us today. And don’t forget to be with Betty and Andre and Miss Tonya….” And on and on. The Lord knows what is on your mind. You don’t have to list every name. Breathe in and breathe out, asking God to remember all those who are on your list today. And though you can’t really surprise Him, (since He knows) spend that extra moment telling Him how much you love Him and how you can’t wait to see what He has in store for you today.
