Draw Near to God

by Doug Markle of Beloved Lord Ministries

James 4:8a

Have you ever felt far from God?  I know I have and I have had many discussions with many people that felt the same way.  In those times when you feel far from God, ask yourself a question:  who moved?  Since God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb 13:8), then clearly it is us that have wandered from Him instead of him walking away from us.

Have you ever driven a car that needed a front-end alignment and constantly pulled one direction?  Life is kind of like that.  If we do not keep our hands on the wheel and deliberately pursue God, our flesh and this world will cause us to drift away from Him.  Make a deliberate choice each day to pursue Him in what you do.

Prayer:

James 4:8(a)

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

Praye: Father God, I am so glad that you love me and want me to have a relationship with you.  May I never forget to constantly steer my life in pursuit of you.
