You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:11, NIV)
It’s a peaceful, quiet morning. The birds are singing, the crickets are chirping, and the sun is greeting us with its warm rays of love and light The solitude is rare most mornings. A deer appeared at the edge of the yard and beside her was a doe. My grandson whispered, “Be quiet you don’t want to scare them.” We watched as they grazed a bit and walked back into the woods my grandson asked for hot chocolate. He got out the cup and hot chocolate packet and prepared for his morning cup of chocolatey goodness “Who made hot chocolate?” he asked. I said I don’t know. His reply was God must have made it because God makes all things good. See if it tastes good or it looks good it must be a God thing. I can’t argue with that logic!
What an amazing world we live in when a deer sighting and hot chocolate become a lesson on the goodness of God. I can see how He makes the path of our lives bring us joy and a glimpse of eternity in these moments. Hot chocolate and God indeed!
Prayer: Lord we thank you for the small moments we see of joy and glory as we walk this life. Help us to remember the blessings we are gifted. And Lord, one more thing. Did you create hot chocolate? Thanks for that too. In Jesus name Amen
