Beautiful and Broken

By Mary Stout
Yet you, Lord , are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Isaiah 64:8 NIV

Kintsugi is the Japanese art which takes broken pieces of pottery and transforms them into beautiful pieces of art. The artist glues each piece together and uses gold to repair the seams taking something broken and making it whole again.
If you think about it, God does that as well. He took human brokenness– sin– and covered us in the blood of Jesus…repairing us and making us whole again. God loved us so much He didn’t want us to suffer in sin and be without him. His answer was to send Jesus to die for our sins. When Jesus was resurrected, our broken places were made beautiful in the Father’s eyes.

Forever hidden in Christ, we are free. Brand New. Loved so much we are healed from the inside out. Not just once. Forever changed. Forever loved. No longer a broken vessel, we are beautifully repaired.

Prayer: Lord thank you for sending me Jesus. For making me whole again. For loving me and giving me peace. Help me show others what you’ve done. In Jesus name, Amen
