Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~ Galatians 6:9
Living faithfully in God’s Kingdom here on earth is challenging – every step of the way. God has a plan for our life … but so does the enemy and his plan is to trip you up whenever and wherever he can.
So when you successfully navigate a small challenge – turning away from gossip, returning a gentle answer in the face of another’s anger, showing kindness to an unkind person, getting up 15 minutes earlier to spend those few minutes in His Word and with Him – it’s time to celebrate!
These may be small victories in the big scheme of things but “Every seasoned traveller knows a journey is made up of many small steps. Small wins in a big fight are how battles are won.” (Judah Kampkes, The Journey)
These slow but steady steps of faithful living are the stepping stones that lead to a closer walk with our Lord – and really frustrate the enemy’s attempts to trip you, trick you, into following the wrong path.
Celebrate with heaven when there is a victory, however small, in your faith journey – and in the faith journeys of your fellow travelers!
Father, thank You for Your Son Jesus who has already won the final battle against the enemy. Thank You for calling me and my fellow travelers into journeying with You. Reveal to us in a mighty way the small victories so we may celebrate and continue to grow. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
