But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.
1 Peter 2:9-10
Recently as my friend and I were chatting and going over our day, I had mentioned in the middle of the mess there are times we forget what we are worth.
His response was you are valuable. Never forget that. It was a kind and encouraging way to say hey I care. You matter to me. I responded with I think that is why God gives us one another, to make sure we remind each other every so often.
Do you have a friend like that? Someone who cheers for you when you excel at something and lifts you up when you can’t see the forest from the trees? Are you that friend for someone in your life?
It’s very easy to listen to the enemy. He finds ways to insert himself when we are under stress, feeling sick, or even when we are celebrating victories. Don’t allow him to permeate your spirit. Remember, “God will give you a thought to deliver you. The devil will give you a thought to destroy you.”
Reinforce God’s grace in your situation by standing on the promises of God. Allow his Word to permeate you and strengthen you every day. Rejoice! You’re a child of the King. Believe His words about you and tell that old devil to leave you alone! Dress in God’s armor. That’s the best way to defeat the enemy.
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the times of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
Ephesians 6:13 NLT
When you do this, you’ll feel stronger, more peaceful and able to navigate life with more confidence and less fear. Your countenance will radiate His light when you believe what God says about you.
You were chosen to do His work, to show others that God in His loving mercy can take a nobody and turn them into a somebody who will spread God’s love and light into the world. Remember my friend, you are valuable.
Prayer: Lord, help us remember we are valuable to you. Help us to lean into your promises you have so freely given us. Help us share the Good news of Christ in the middle of what life throws at us. In your name we pray, Amen
