Jesus’ Kids

by Doug Markle of Beloved Lord Ministries

Bible Lesson
Matthew 19-13-15 | 13 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And he laid his hands on them and went away.

Thoughts
I have many times wondered who these kids were.  Mark 10:16 adds more detail when it says, “And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.”  Who did they grow up to be?  Imagine having the God of the universe and Savior of the world pray for and bless you.  Wouldn’t that be amazing?

What if I were to tell you that He did?  God, Himself has blessed us and Jesus currently intercedes for us at the right hand of God.  God used the writers of the bible to tell us what He says about us.  In Christ you are sanctified, guiltless, washed, justified, child of God, brother/sister of Christ, heir to the promise, holy, beloved, blameless, predestined, blessed, forgiven, redeemed, reconciled, chosen and saint.  Let me tell you a few more adjectives that the bible uses to describe His children.  Fearless, healed, whole, prosperous, generous, effective, bold, compassionate, peaceful, patient, joyful, kind, good, faithful, self-controlled, and loving.

Anything bouncing around in your head that does not line up with these descriptions is not God speaking to you.  Spend some time in quiet reflection today and ask God to download into your spirit what He has to say to you.

Prayer: Loving and holy Father, thank you for loving me and for speaking over my life.  May I see myself as you see me.  Nothing more and nothing less.
