“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” (Romans 12:1, NIV)
How do you view worship? For some, it is what we call a service or celebration that we might attend at a church, or other location. For some, it is merely the music provided during that gathering. Is that all there is to worship, though? Nope, not in the slightest.
Worship should be a way of life. This is precisely what the Apostle Paul meant when he said that true and proper worship comes down to offering your body as a holy and pleasing sacrifice to God. This comes down to every aspect of the way you live — not just an hour a week, but every moment of your life.
I want you to think today about how you can live your life as an act of worship to God. May everything you say, think, and do point to God. Then use your life to magnify the presence of God in the world, and lives of others. This is a holy way to live, and pleases the Lord!
Prayer: Dear Lord. I want my life to be an act of worship. Forgive me for the times I limit my understanding of worship to something that happens on a limited basis. I want to give you all I am and have, so I may experience the limitless depth of your love. I lift this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.
