Are you waiting right now? Waiting on an answer? Waiting on peace? Waiting on hope? I think we all have times in our lives when we must wait on God. Those times can feel arduously painful, can’t they? It feels as though the waiting will never end, doesn’t it? So what are we to do?
Today’s verse gives us great insight…if you are in a time of waiting, serve.
“Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us.”
(Psalms 123:2, ESV)
Robin Chance shared a great quote with me a couple weeks ago. It said, “If you’re waiting on God, do what waiters do: serve.” That’s great advice, from Scripture to the quote, because it reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on Creator and not our circumstances.
I want to close a little differently today. Click on this link and listen to the John Waller song, While I’m Waiting. This is a special song to me, which emphasizes the idea of serving God, even while being forced to wait. Give it a listen, will you?
Have a blessed day, even if you’re being forced to wait!
