The fourth Sunday in Advent we light the Candle of Love. It is also called the angel’s candle as we remember the angels announcing the birth of the Christ child. With this fourth candle of Advent we turn our hearts toward the fulfillment of God’s promise of 4,000 years ago from the beginning. God’s steadfast love is alive in the newborn baby!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” ~ John 3:16-17
As each candle around the wreath was lit, we prepared our hearts for the celebration of His arrival that kept God’s promise made so long ago. Each week the light of Christ became brighter. May our hearts be brighter with the Love of Christ as we begin the Christmas season.
Father may this Christmas season fill us with your light your love and your hope. As we celebrate with our families may we be mindful of your promise fulfilled to us so long ago. In Jesus name Amen
