“And the one sitting on the throne said, ‘Look, I am making everything new!’ And then he said to me, ‘Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.'” (Revelation 21:5, NLT)
Happy New Year! I’ll be honest, I’m ready for it. 2019 was brutal on my family and me. Though changing a calendar doesn’t really change any circumstances, it can help to change perspective.
What do you hope for in 2020? What do you need to leave in the old year, so the new one can be productive? What do you need to change in your own life so this new year can lead to a new you?
God is making all things new, and today is the prime opportunity to claim this promise. God is trustworthy and true. Who knows where things will be one year from today? Rest assured, though, that you are in God’s hand today, and He is with you every step of the way.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the opportunities of the New Year. Help me to approach 2020 with faith in you as One who is always trustworthy and true. I pray this in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
