Not quite Sugarplums

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21, NIV)
Have you ever made a vision board? Many times, we Christians look at things like this from the world and wonder if it is a biblical concept. I believe vision boards can enhance our walk with God. Daniel and Joseph used to interpret the dreams and visions of kings. God used those to show them His way. Maybe God can show you His way with a vision board too. He even answered a prayer in Habbakuk this way:

And then God answered: “Write this.

Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters.

So that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming.

It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!
And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It’s on its way. It will come right on time. Habakkuk 2:2-3

Vision boards are more than just a place to paste pictures of what you want or plan to do. It’s a visual concept you can use to affirm the things God has laid in your heart or spirit, affirming the goals that God has given us. It serves to keep us focused on what we are doing to serve God day to day. Once you have a vision board, put it where you can see it daily and don’t get discouraged if it seems like the results are slow in coming. Keep at it and it will be fulfilled in His time.
Can you just imagine what good things will come when you have a testimony to glorify God with from using a vision board?
Prayer: Father, help us to use the things we find in the world as a way to worship you and remind us of your plans for our life. We know if we do our faith will continue to strengthen and our connection to you will remain strong and healthy. In Jesus’ name, Amen
