I tell you the solemn truth, you will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; you will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy. John 18:20
This verse stumbled into my day and made me think about a friend who loves gardening. For those of you who love it, there is a soothing sense of accomplishment makes the soul happy when we are playing in the dirt again as the nursery commercial jingle goes. Last year she was working in her garden and lost a very special ring. It was the cross ring she had bought after her parents died. I am sure she was sad over it and looked for it to no avail. Accepting she had lost it she probably prayed for the Lord to help her find it. She continued to garden through the year, never finding it.
Fast forward to this year when the entire world shuts down for a pandemic. My friend begins gardening and one day as she was pulling up the weeds something sparkled in the sunlight. She found the beautiful cross ring she had lost. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! She was so happy when she found it.
As we walk the walk, we may have sad days. We will feel like we have lost our way. Don’t allow that to break your spirit. One day when you least expect it, the Lord will pull you back out of those weeds and you will rejoice at the wonder of Him again.
Prayer: We praise you for the difficulties, the valleys and the mountains, Lord. May your hand bring us back when we are sad, and may we praise you in our victories. In Jesus name Amen
